They Don't Play

Bemoaning the fact that the house is in total disarray from all the toys, and what-not's, I asked out loud how come our house is so untidy.  I then said that for sure in the houses of other kids, their houses are not as topsy-turvy.  Forest's quick rejoinder was, "Because Nanay, they don't play.  They are mostly on their tablets thus their house is clean!" :P

12 Days of Christmas

Three years ago today:

I could hear Rod singing from the living room: "On the second day of Christmas, ONE true LIE gave to me, 2 PEOPLE DOGS and a lala-lala-lala... Nanay, isulat mo yung up to 12 kasi di ko alam!" Translation -- "You write all twelve (of Christmas) because I don't know!"

Rod was only 7 then :)

Err.. Nothing Unhealthy?!

Forest, waking me up on my much needed afternoon nap, "Nanay, is there anything not healthy food (in this house)? Gutom na ako masyado! "

Rod over skype:  Nanay, gusto mo di ko muna i-off?
Me:  Bakit? I-off ko rin ito, Anak kasi paalis na rin ako maya-maya,
Rod: Para kita mo pa rin kami habang natutulog kami.
Me: Ah... gusto mo?  You want me to watch over you while you sleep?
Rod: Nods his head
Nanay: Sige (naiyak na).

And so I came across some "medical" files maintained by my son, "Dr. Rod Lauren A. Bolo" that read:

Waaahhhh! (Blame it on rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner and family always insisting you eat so you regain your well-being )

Date: October 1, 2015

Diagnosis: KSP, Malikot and wrong grammar

Treatment: Don't be KSP and malikot and wrong grammar

Hahaha! Kids! You love them more each day!

Is it Time?

I was working at the clubhouse while the kids are playing when Rod sat beside me and asked, "Nanay, pano nabuntis si Fifi when wala man napasok na p&#i$ sa kanya."  Needless to say, I was stupefied.

It was a nice, sunny afternoon thus a lot had gone out to the clubhouse to enjoy the good weather.  A lot of them brought their dogs along and seeing them probably brought about the question.

I acted nonchalant though and asked him if indeed what he said is a prerequisite to getting pregnant and whatever gave him the idea. He said he saw it in the case of Chai-chai which is our neighbor's dog.

The incident made me wonder if the time is right to start talking about the birds and the bees. Hmm...

121 Days!

Last week, Rod (now 9 years old) came to me and just blurted out, "Nanay, 121 days after your wedding, ipinanganak na ako!" (121 days after your wedding, I was born!"

I got tongue-tied, not knowing what to say.  I attempted a feeble, "Not! It was more days than that!" To which he quickly, "Hindi binilang ko!" :P

Hugs and Kisses

Earlier phone conversation:

Forest:  Nanay, natanggap mo padala ko? (Did you get what I sent?)
Me: Alin? (Which was?)
Forest: Yung hug and kiss, nagpadala ako! (Hug and kisses, I sent some)
Me: Ah! Opo! Ramdam ko ang init at higpit. (Ah! Yes! I felt the warmth!) I'm sending you some, now. Mahigpit na mahigpit na yakap and kiss galing kay Nanay.  Tanggap mo na? (Warm and tight embraces and kisses from Nanay.  Did you get it?)
Forest: Opo, nilipat ko sa dibdib ko. (Yes, I did.  I transferred them to my heart.)
Me (not quite hearing correctly):  Saan? (Where?)
Forest: Nilipat ko sa heart ko! (I transferred to my heart!)

:(  Imagine hearing that in her cute, little voice...

Meaning of the Song

Because I made the mistake of downloading the 80's version of "When Will I See You Again," Rod pointed out, "Medyo rock siya, Nay. Hindi yan. Tapos ang meaning ng song, Nay ay really make time to be happy kasi madali lang ang buhay." Huh! So he's into the meaning of songs now? How's that for a 9 yo? smile emoticon

Sorry gud

On having to ask her about what transpired in this morning's groundbreaking at Tuburan's New Loon campus, Forest has this to say, "Dapat magpunta ka sa mga ganyan, Nay! Kasi, di mo maenjoy yung ganyan. Mahirap baya magkwento ulit, di ko makanta at masabi lahat! Makapoy na kasi ako!"

Hmm.. Ay, sori gud, Anak. Nanay has to work though I would have wanted to be a part of it. Di bale, Nanay was, and still is, sending good vibes and well wishes for Tuburan! #Tuburan #BabyTales

Adele

Last night, while making lambing with Forest, I asked her if she could sing for me and what song would it be. She turned to me with eyebrows raised and replied,"ADELE?" I was taken aback! Forest knows Adele and her songs?! I began thinking if I probably have a genius/prodigy-in-the-making! And then she sang, "Doe-A-DEL a ah-ah (garbled) deer!" Hahaha "Do Re Mi" from the "Sound of Music" lang pala hahaha!
